Hej,
Mitt namn är Daniela Björkenstam Stenbäck och jag är konstnär. Rollen som konstnär innebär att jag har möjlighet att ställa frågor, skapa diskussioner och lyfta fram samhällsproblem, utan att nödvändigtvis behöva definiera en lösning.
Jag har tillbringat alla mina somrar på Seglinge, eftersom min farmor ursprungligen kommer därifrån, och jag har därför på nära håll sett hur skärgården bortprioriteras inom beslutsfattningen, inte minst när det kommer till infrastruktur. Det vill jag uppmärksamma!
Det här projektet startar med att jag vill göra en namninsamling. Så tycker du, precis som jag, att större hänsyn bör tas till skärgården, och alla som bor och vistas här, när viktiga beslut fattas, så hoppas jag att du vill skriva på namninsamlingen som hänger bakom det här dokumentet. För varje person som skriver på kommer jag sticka en rad i vad som till slut kommer bli en halsduk, gjord på garn från Seglingebutiken. Varje namn representerar alltså ett varv i halsduken så ju fler som skriver på desto längre halsduk.
Namninsamlingen och halsduken planeras skickas till infrastrukturministern under hösten.

The existence of the archipelago
Hi, My name is Daniela Björkenstam Stenbäck and I’m an artist. Some of the many roles of the artist are to ask questions, create discussions, and highlight different social issues, without necessarily having to define a solution.
I’ve spent all my summer holidays on Seglinge, since my grandmother is originally from that island, and I’ve therefore closely watched how the archipelago is deprioritized in the decision-making, especially when it comes to infrastructure. This is something that I’d like to emphasize!
The project begins with a petition. I want to collect the names of people who, like me, think that greater consideration should be given to the archipelago and its residents when important decisions are being made. If you want to sign the petition, you can find it underneath this document. For each person who signs, I will knit a row in what will eventually become a scarf, made with yarn from the local shop in Seglinge. Each name thus represents a row in the scarf, so the more people that sign, the longer the scarf.
The petition and the scarf are expected to be sent to the Minister of Infrastructure in the fall.
