I was privileged to own a blind cat for nine years until her death from cancer. She never let not being able to see stop her from doing anything.
In addition, I was born with cerebral palsy so I am particularly incensed when individuals decide that a creature is too "defective" to live. Frankly, a county administrative board that thinks it has the right to decide who lives or dies scares me to death.

Why does a blind cat have less value?
They love and give just as much as a seeing cat. Some human will feel so blessed to have this kitty in their lives.
Countries have come so far in stopping declawing and other barbaric practices like altering dog's appearance too.
If others find value of this cat's life and want to take on the responsibility of caring for them for their life, what gives the right of taking away that choice.
Many resources out there that show you can care for a cat who is blind. You can give a blind cat, a life full of enrichment.
How a country takes care of their most vulnerable shows the character and values of that country. Show some sympathy and humanity in a time that is most needed.
Why is not euthanizing this cat so bad? This cat isn't in pain and is not a burden to those who want to care for them.
Reconsider and let them live. The world's eyes are turned to you.
